Zulkizilkree I am not sure. In this case, using the proxy initiator mode simplifies the configuration. FCIP uses different ports. If you enabled the autoreconfigure option on both switches before connecting the fabric, a disruptive reconfiguration RCF will occur.

What should i do please to resolve that issue please? Hi, Are you able to access the by Device Manager, web browser, telnet, or ssh when your laptop is directly connected to the mgmt0 interface and your laptop configured on the same subnet as the mgmt0 interface? What console settings, console cable, terminal emulator application are you using and does it work with another MDS? Since,i am a novice i need little guidance on how work on cisco switches.
Like, the use of Port channels etc. Will really appreciate if some one can help me with a link or place not the configuration guide where in i can find details on concentrated more on the theory part. Thanks in advance! Actually the best info is in the configuration guides.
There are some external companies that run training sessions on the MDS to provide in depth training. Can i configure interface trunking, routing and dhcp services on the Cisco MDS switch?
Thanks for your response!! Without LAG configured, these ports would forward traffic to and from the Dell server fine. Am I missing any configuration? Can I configure LAG on edgeports? Or is there any compatibility issue? Thank you. Vishal Hi Dave, Thank you for your quick response and sorry to have looked at it late. Well, I already resolved the issue and like you pointed out, it was the configuration of the Dell NICs.
I had to download this piece of software again and I was then able to configure NIC teaming on it. I initially thought that it was already configured because we got the Dell server "pre-installed with pretty much everything".
Anyway thank you for your assistance. We have bought 7 of these SG Switches and I would like to use all of them in a hierarchical design as core, distribution and access layer switches because I believe this switch has got all the qualities to be used at all the three layers.
We have about users in our company at the moment but expecting growth of about employees per year. Would you think a hierarchical network design for a users is a bit of an overkill? Would you think these SG switches can handle network traffic at the distribution and core layers?
I worked out the average daily traffic is only about 4 Mbps. Thank you for your valuable guidance. Kind regards,.
